Sarah Joyce Randall Griffin, 92, of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday May 29, 2018 in Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehab. A private service will be held at a later date.

Sarah was born January 2, 1926 in Stanly County, NC and was the daughter of the late Thomas Randall and Daisey Deese Randall. Mrs. Griffin was a retired employee of Albemarle Spinning. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. Sarah loved to garden, bake and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was the oldest member of the Southern Express Clogging Team at Charleywood.

Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husband Lester Earl Griffin, Sr. She is survived by a daughter Nina Williamson of Norwood, NC; two sisters Jewell Blalock of Albemarle, NC and Bettie Rose Greene of Midland, NC; three grandchildren Sara Saunders of Love Joy, NC, Dustin Mabry of Norwood, NC and Katie Blalock of New York, NY; three great-children Ryker Saunders, Zakk Mabry and Shea Mabry. Mrs. Griffin is also preceded in death by her son Ricky Blalock.
