Lucille McRorie Purser, 101 years of age, of Fairview, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at The Jesse Helms Nursing Center in Monroe.
Mrs. Purser was born December 10, 1916 in Union County to the late Reece Fernando McRorie and the late Lydia McRorie. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years in 2010, Haron Brown Purser; brothers, Pratt, Reece, Ray and David McRorie and sister, Irene Williams.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland officiated by Rev. Dr. Ken Thomas. Burial will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens at 8901 Lawyers Rd., Mint Hill.
Survivors include sons, Jimmy (Linda) Purser of Marshville, Donald (Terri) Purser of Pageland, and Eugene (Beverly) Purser of Indian Trail; grandchildren, Lisa McClain, Sheila Long, Jennifer Gardner, Jason Jordan, Donald Purser, Jr, Michelle Griffin, Michael Purser, Jennifer Deese, Brian Purser, Darren Purser, Brandon Purser, and Ashlyn Schneider; and 23 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Jesse Helms Nursing Center and especially Jessica Parks who loved her “Butterbean”.
