April – Financial Literacy Month

MINT HILL, NC – If you didn’t know, April is Financial Literacy Month.  The United States Senate designated it as this month back in 2003.  Have you done anything, in particular, this month related to your finances?  In my opinion, we should continue to educate ourselves every month, however, what better time then now?

Financial literacy can mean different things to different people.  What it means to me is taking the time to research any questions I may have when it comes to my finances.  My belief is that our questions will evolve as we experience different stages in our life.  This could be anything from managing your own student loan debt all the way to helping your kids pay for college.  Concepts may be simple for one person, but challenging for another.  Some components of Financial Literacy include debt management, credit, savings, and financial goals.

The main reason we should celebrate Financial Literacy Month is to raise public awareness.  I encourage each and every one of you to write down a few questions you have regarding your finances.  Of course we can all Google generic answers, but if you want to have a detailed conversation tailored to your own life please let us know.  We are always happy to help.  I’ll leave you with a quote from Benjamin Franklin: “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”

Let us help you find your clarity of purpose!
