Albemarle, NC – Stanly Community College (SCC) is pleased to announce a new Information Technology Academy (ITA) website. SCC’s goal is to offer IT courses in an integrated and interdisciplinary approach.The IT Academy platform is equipped to deliver a level of value and opportunities for technology professionals at all levels. Courses range from Red Hat Academy, VMware IT Academy, Palo Alto Networks Academy, Microsoft IT Academy, Cisco Networking Academy to Python, and much more.

The IT Academy also offers dozens of highly specialized courses enabling individuals to gain the skills needed to earn industry-driven certifications in today’s evolving IT environment. Certifications require fewer classes than degrees, and can be taken completely online. Additionally, a Pearson VUE Testing Center is located on the Albemarle campus for individuals to schedule exams. SCC also offers a pathway for IT degree-seeking individuals.

The ITA website received support from The Golden LEAF Foundation that helped to build the variety of online classes that are available. According to economic data, technology jobs will increase regionally by nearly 17% over the next ten years. SCC is excited to help provide a trained workforce for these jobs.
