Nearly 100 individuals attended the annual Cosmetology Hair Show at Stanly Community College (SCC) on Thursday, April 12, 2018 to watch the students showcase their talents. The show featured the latest prom and special occasion hairstyles and make-up, done exclusively by students. Nearly fifty models dressed-up in prom attire and had their hair and make-up done for this fun-filled event.
David Smith, SCC Cosmetology Program Director, gave opening remarks and thanked everyone for coming to the show to support the students. Michael Sperling, Associate Dean, Business and Career Technology, introduced the students and models throughout the show. Cosmetology instructors David Smith, Linda Hatley, Kimberly Herrin, Tammy Shepherd, and Gena Trogdon worked together to guide, support, and prepare the students for their big event.
Linda Hatley, Cosmetology Instructor and coordinator of the hair show, noted, “The students did a great job this year to prepare the models’ hairstyles and make up. As an instructor, it’s such a good feeling to watch the students apply the skills they learned in the classroom and on the clinic floor during the hair show. Weare very proud of our students.”
