During last week’s town council meeting in Red Cross, NC House candidate Wayne Sasser introduced himself to the council and offered his support to the town. Sasser, a retired pharmacist of 43 years, will be running for the NC House of Representatives District 67 seat in the 2018 election.

Sasser offered to meet with council members to discuss issues pertinent to Red Cross and ways he could be of assistance from Raleigh.

“I want to guarantee you that I will be transparent and won’t do anything that will affect the town of Red Cross without your support and talking with you before I do it,” said Sasser.

In other matters:

  • The council approved the financial report for the month of September.
  • The council renewed the contract with Phil Love for mowing of the fields on town hall property.
  • The council approved a proclamation for Tuesday, November 7 as “Thank You For Your Service Day” to show appreciation to veterans.
