Surgical Specialists of Charlotte has expanded its services to the Mint Hill area.

The move coincides with the opening of the Mint Hill Medical Center earlier this month.

On Oct. 15, the company began offering general surgery, surgical oncology and colorectal surgery services at its new office in the medical center’s building at 8201 Healthcare Loop, Suite 202 in Mint Hill, according to a news release.

“There are 30 surgeons in our group and we provide surgical services to all the hospitals in the region, including South Carolina,” Dr. Louis Zbinden, president of Surgical Specialists of Charlotte, said.

Since they are committed to providing surgery services to the population of Charlotte and the surrounding region, they felt that with the opening of the new hospital, it would be a great opportunity to begin providing services to people in the area, Zbinden said.

Surgeons working in the new Mint Hill office are all board certified. Though each of them will have different office hours, the four surgeons working in the Mint Hill office will be Aaron Bergsman, Jennifer S. Holl, Natalie L. Nowak and Lee C. Pedersen, according to the news release.

“Our new Mint Hill office will make it so much easier and faster for patients in Mint Hill and the surrounding areas to access the world-class surgical care they need without having to travel to a larger city,” J. Clay Baker, administrative director of Surgical Specialists, said in the news release.

He and others with Surgical Specialists of Charlotte look forward to working at the new office and with the new Mint Hill Medical Center, Zbinden said.

“It’s a fantastic facility, it’s absolutely gorgeous and state of the art” he said in reference to the Mint Hill Medical Center.

He added that he feels the medical center as well as the new Surgical Specialists of Charlotte office is needed in the area and will be very helpful to area residents.
