“Sharing Hope… Changing Lives” is the mission statement of the Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina. This organization cares for children that were abused or a part of a family crisis. In addition to children, Baptist Children’s Homes also cares for disabled adults and aging adults. There are 21 Baptist Homes across North Carolina and an orphanage for impoverished children in Guatemala making a difference in the lives of children and adults, alike.
On Saturday, September 8th, the Thomasville Children’s Home welcomed groups from around the area to come and volunteer in the Children’s Homes community. Some groups pressure-washed driveways, others laid out pine needles and washed windows. After the tasks were completed all the volunteers gathered at the chapel for a short service. The organization explained their purpose, and how important it is to be able to support these kids who were placed in unfortunate situations.
There are so many other ways to get involved with the Baptist Children’s Homes and opportunities to help these children up grow in safe environments. For more information about this organization and how you can make a change go to www.bchfamily.org.
