Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center is truly a first class community focused hospital facility. The hospital administration and leadership gave the Charlotte media the opportunity to tour the new complex.
Joy Greear, President and COO of Novant Health Mint Hill Medical Center led the tour through the 145,000 square foot 46 bed community hospital offering residents and patients a wide range of medical services in woman’s health, emergency care, imaging, outpatient services and much more. The facility accommodates 24 medical surgical beds, eight labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum beds in rooms decorated in a homelike, comfortable environment and contains a specially equipped bed that can be adjusted for delivery. There are four intensive care unit beds, 10 observation beds and a 16-bay emergency room facility. Also, attached is a 67,000 square foot physician’s plaza for outpatient services.
In November 2016, the Mint Hill Medical Office building opened on the 80 acre campus originally offering primary care, pediatric and ob-gyn medical care. In 2017, Novant Health added pulmonology, heart and vascular, orthopedic, sports medicine and urgent care services.
The rooms are bright and spacious, fully equipped with all the latest medical, surgical and world class technical equipment available. The hallways are wide, electrical cords are not on the floor, they are up high plugged into a huge receptacle in surgical rooms. There is even a man cave for the expectant fathers to enjoy while waiting for the families new arrival or simply when visiting. The views are very pleasing from all the rooms and the staff is friendly and caring.
The Mint Hill Medical Center project cost $125 million which is a major investment in our community in Mint Hill including the surrounding neighboring communities located in Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Stanly and Union counties.
The goal of the project was to create and build a world-class medical facility offering the latest technology and clinicians to provide a high level of quality care to patients. Novant Health is making an effort to simplify the healthcare experience, to make it more convenient and affordable so their patients can focus on having a successful recovery and staying healthy.
The new medical center is part of Novant Health, a four state integrated network of physician clinics, outpatient facilities and hospitals delivering excellent healthcare to the communities they serve. The Novant Health network has more than 1,500 physicians and over 28,000 team members who provide first rate medical care at over 580 locations, 15 medical centers and hundreds of outpatient facilities and clinics. The organization is headquartered in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and they serve more than 4.4 million patients annually.
Next week Novant Health will have a ribbon cutting ceremony on the Mint Hill Medical Center campus. Management plans to open it’s doors to the public on October 1, 2018 for business to begin to serve the residents and patients located in our area.
