National Fire Prevention Week October 3-9

MINT HILL, NC – With this week, October 3-9, being National Fire Prevention Week, the Mint Hill Fire Prevention Bureau reminds you of some important issues to keep in mind all year for the safety of you and your family. Always keep a fresh battery in your smoke detectors and gas monitors by replacing them at the semi-annual time change. Also, have discussions with your family about fire prevention and escape plans with a location to meet if you have to evacuate for an emergency. Tell your children to talk to their friends about the importance of fire prevention and teach them the 911 emergency number.

The Mint Hill Fire Prevention Bureau was established when the Town of Mint Hill became the provider of fire protection and rescue operations for the Mint Hill Fire District. The new agency replaced the MintHill Volunteer Fire Department that had served the district since 1952. We are still a non-profit charitable organization to provide fire prevention and support to the firefighting agencies that serve our community. We are available for discussions at meetings and schools to provide materials and information about fire prevention. We no longer ask for donations for fire service but we welcome donations to provide our services to the Mint Hill community.
