Mallory McGinnis, Owner of Mother Nature Designs, has been interested in landscaping since she was in seventh grade. While it is a little unusual to know what you want to do at such a young age, McGinnis has followed her passion and now owns her own business in the industry she loves. Supported by her mom’s partner, he helped her learn the details and ins and outs of landscaping. He always supported her and his teachings laid the base for McGinnis to continue to grow.

After leaving her first job, McGinnis worked for Pike’s Nursery and then on to a few more landscaping companies. But McGinnis felt that they didn’t treat customers the way they necessarily should. She explains, “I founded this company because I was tired of seeing clients mistreated or work done incorrectly. I wanted to form a brand that valued the customer’s happiness and satisfaction more than expected. I wanted to always be giving my clients that “Wow” factor and never cut corners.” Mother Nature Designs also offers “dead accurate quotes” which means that the quote you receive is the price you will pay. Due to the program McGinnis uses, she is accurately able to predict costs and avoid the dreaded contractor overages.

McGinnis continues, “We do 3-D virtual renderings of residential and commercial property owners. We take the plat plan of the property and import it into a computer and build a replica of the house with a new landscape and/or hardscape surrounding it. We offer a 3 in 1 package all for the same price. We include 3-D computerized images of the project site(s) on the property. Second, we include a 2-D scaled blueprints to turn into HOA or used as an aerial perspective with a plant map legend. Lastly, we include a 3-D virtual tour video of your new property with the new planned landscape and/or hardscape.”

“For the initial consultation the client is asked many questions such as: Do you want flowers? Perennials or annuals? Would you like privacy? Do you put Holiday lights on your bushes? If you could use your yard in anyway, what would that look like? Just to name a few.  We look for drainage issues or problems the client may not have never noticed yet. We listen very carefully to our client’s needs, wants and desires so we can create for them a perfect paradise.  On the second consultation, we go over the design in detail with the design, a plant book, virtual tour and quote for installment.”

McGinnis even offers design options for Do-It-Yourselfers. If you don’t know where to start, Mother Nature Designs can help! McGinnis will provide a 2D drawing and planting guide so that you can find the right look for your house. Or if you want her to design and install, McGinnis has partnered up with Tina Simmons of Skyline Design and Landscape. Simmons and her husband, Charlie Simmons, does the installation and makes it happen. McGinnis is also supported by her wife, Christina Asbill, who helps Mother Nature Designs with their work. Most of Mother Nature Designs take about two weeks to complete and usually less than five days to get installed.

Mother Nature Designs is based in Charlotte, NC and offers landscape and hardscape planning from Ft. Mill to Mooresville, from Concord to Waxhaw, and all around the Metro Charlotte area. McGinnis sums it up best. “Mother Nature Designs gives people a vision of what could and can be done in their own backyard. It gives people dead accurate quotes of cost rate due to the technology we use for our designing process. We believe in going above and beyond for every customer. We love giving people their own little chunk of the paradise of their dreams.“
