The Mint Hill Women’s Club is a philanthropic and social organization dedicated to raising money to pour back into the community. The Fundraising Committee chairs, Andree West and Mary Pat Busker, oversaw this event to ensure the night was successful, selling over 195 tickets. The night featured over 90 merchants, all guaranteeing an excellent outcome. Andree West expresses special gratitude to the 20-year relationships with some merchants for their dedicated commitment and loyalty to the club.

Guests were allowed entry promptly at 5:30 pm to glance at the variety of the 30 raffle baskets featured. The basket themes included gardening, Italian pasta, spa pamper sets, St. Patrick’s Day, and other topics.  Shortly after, followed the 6:00 pm commencement with Jessica Burns, President, welcoming honored guests to enjoy the silent auction accompanied by hilarious banter, heavy hors d’oeuvre, and wine tastings. The Silent Auction displayed 60 items, headlining crafts in pottery, glass art designs, and arrays of canvases.

During the 48th Annual Fundraiser, all guests had the luxury of enjoying the tastings of a unique wine selection, presenting an “all over the world experience.” They had options of trying four red wines, four white wines, and two local craft beers. The club’s favorite, Blue Vin Riesling from Germany, resurfaced from last year to be served at this year’s event. Guests were also treated to an array of delicious appetizers ranging from Beef Wellington, Cordon Bleu bites, Veggies, cheeses, and much more, along with small desserts provided by Messer Financial Group.

The silent auction ended roughly around 7:15 pm, followed by the raffle drawings shortly after. There was a winner at every table going home with a decorative basket. The night was filled with laughter, smiles, and meeting new people. The event brought together guests from many local businesses in the area, members of the country club, and local artisans.

Later in the evening, a live auction of Wine took place promoting the Château Purcari Freedom Blend, particularly selected for their 2014 manifesto in having all profits from the sale donated to Ukrainian refugees. The event auctioned off six wine bottles to support a local Ukrainian family sponsored by Mending Strides Ranch. The proceeds will go to purchase a Food Lion gift card for the family.

Conclusively, the Third Annual Sip, Savor, Support Fundraiser was quite the sensation. The Fundraising Committee chair, Andree West, thanks all merchants and guests for their continued support. She states, “Considering the economic times, we are still amazed and humbled by local merchants to help support the people in need!” This event would not have been possible without the support and devotion of the volunteers, businesses, and organizations who participated in contributing items and time to this affair.
