EWC Consulting starts the process with high school students as early as when they enter the 9th and 10th grade with guidance and skill building along with short-term services. Students can also start the process when entering 11th grade, when the team at EWC Consulting focuses on preparing students with the skills that they need to build for entering the college of their dreams. When students are in the 11th grade, they help with providing skills and advice that will help them excel in the admission process then help with managing the process through high school graduation to the day they sit down for their first college class. The team includes Dr. Chris Flowers, an educational consultant and research expert; Julie Swafford, a Client Care Specialist; and Elizabeth West, CEO.

Elizabeth is an amazing wife and mother of two wonderful children. She is originally from upstate New York, and after graduating from the State University of New York at Potsdam she moved to North Carolina. Upon moving to North Carolina, an opportunity to be an Admissions Counselor at UNC Pembroke started her journey of working with students in the higher education field. She has 25 years of talent and experience working with students and assisting their higher education success stories. The success that she has been rewarded with through this career path has brought her moments of joy. Her experience in higher education provides students with the ability to take their journey to higher education as an admissions adventure that will go beyond their expectations. “It is a privilege to be able to do what you love,” says Elizabeth.  “At EWC, all of us are passionate about our work with students.  We are educators, and advocates, and offer an insider’s perspective on the admissions process because we have been there!”

Mrs. West is also a published author and brings to the table a lifetime of experience. Her contribution to the Chicken Soup for the Soul: Hope and Miracles (February 2015 edition), an essay titled “Music is His Voice, is a wonderful composition of who she is as a mother and the role that she plays in people’s lives. The understanding, the process, and the time that she takes with each student is the same focus that is displayed throughout her essay. She is a true inspiration for the process of admission to higher education and how when done correctly, the process can be a wonderful foundation for what life has in store for each student. These College Admission Adventure Guides offer one-on-one coaching – short and long term – and help to find the best college fit with a side of success, which is what EWC Consulting is doing best.
