En route to Ocho Rio, we stopped for a bathroom break, and a chance to purchase one of jamaica’s famous Rum drinks. We had indulged in a drink in the lounge, as well as the free ice-cold bottled water in our van, so the bathroom break was welcome for this old man.
Barbara and I had chosen a Club Level Cottage for our stay. Before we arrive, we need to tell you a little about “Ochi”. Ochi is the largest resort anywhere in Sandal’s inventory, The resort covers over 100 acres of lush vegetation and intimate beach. It spills down from the hillside to the beach, with a large variety of room categories to chose from. Perhaps the most popular room categories are in the unique “Butler Village” located on the hillside. Here there are multiple fascinating villas, serviced by both Concierge and Butler categories. Villas can be a single building with 4 Suites with balconies, that share a semi-private pool, or they can be a twin occupancy villa where 2 suites share a semi-private pool. Closer to the beach is the Riviera Beachside Area, where the are Butler and Concierge-level suites, as well as standard service level luxury suites. The entire resort is connected by a transportation system with pickup and drop off every 15 minutes. There are 16 dining choices and 11 bars on site. An amazing fact for this resort is THERE ARE OVER 100 POOLS in the Resort.
Ochi Resort is for the active couples looking for plenty to do, as well as quiet, secluded, romantic hideaways where one can just chill. Unlimited Golf with transportation and greens fees included, as well as unlimited Scuba Diving (subject to Padiregulations), and all water sports including Hobe cats, all included. That is what Sandals calls “More Inclusive”.
