If someone had said everyone would be sharing the details of their personal lives on a computer through something called Facebook 25 years ago, no one would have believed it.
In fact, most of us would have probably laughed at the thought.
Yet here we are in 2018 and many people are doing just that.
How did that happen? Why do people want to be on social media sharing details of their lives?
Sure social media can breed negativity and some days it feels like nothing good is happening anywhere. However, it still provides the fundamental element all humans crave: connection.
Social media is no more at fault for negativity than it is for positivity. It’s simply a tool, one that can be used for good or bad. We get to decide how we use it.
Social media has provided more connection between people than ever before and kind of like a large family living in a small house, friction happens when there’s a lot of connecting.
It’s easy to blame social media, but really human behavior hasn’t changed that all that much. We all want connection, and for the most part, we all like to complain about something too. 😉
