There’s a warning circulating Facebook, it looks like this:
“Checking out the algorithm. Here’s how to bypass the system FB now has in place that limits posts on your news feed. Their new algorithm chooses the same few people – about 25 – who will read your posts. Therefore, hold your finger down anywhere in this post and “copy” will pop up. Click “copy”. Then go your page, start a new post and put your finger anywhere in the blank field. “Paste” will pop up and click paste. This will bypass the system.”
Like most copy and paste type posts like this, it’s false. There isn’t a set number of friends Facebook chooses to put in your newsfeed, and even if that were true, a copy and paste post wouldn’t have any affect on it.
In an effort to keep you connected to the people you care about, Facebook has formulated an algorithm to determine which of your friends matter the most to you.
The friends you interact with more often, are the ones you see in your newsfeed. Not very different from friends that show up in real life.
So just keep liking and commenting on what you care about most to keep seeing it.
