CHARLOTTE – Tax Season Is HERE!!
Hey Tax Payer. ARE YOU READY FOR TAX SEASON??
So, Let’s Get To It…
For Tax Accountants, “This Is The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year”! Tax season is finally here! Are we the only ones excited to be in this season? Maybe.
Fun Fact: This time of year, in North Carolina we’ll experience three of four seasons in a matter of weeks. All leading up to a tax season finale of April 18th and warmer weather.
But let’s get down to business. Here are some of the top-of-mind topics that have crossed my desk. Child Tax Credit: For some families they elected to receive monthly advance payments for various reason. The rest either opted out in order to receive the CTC during tax season. Either way, the remaining balance of the total credit will be offer as a refund credit if you qualify. Stimulus Checks: Whether you received a stimulus check in 2021 or not will affect your tax return again this tax season. Please check your bank statement to find the amount that was issued. Any misinformation about your answer on your taxes will delay the tax return from being processed. Refunds: The IRS “predicts” most taxpayers will receive their tax refund within 21 days of e-filing. Direct deposit is the fastest way to receive Granted all the information is correct concerning stimulus amounts, dependent claim, and income that’s report to the IRS. (W2’s, IRA’s,1099’s etc). If your taxes require special handling by an IRS Agent then the refund will be delayed and a letter of explanation will be sent to the address on your taxes. Along with any changes they may have in the information they have received from the EIN entity.
