The Extended Deadline July 15th, 2020 is here!
*The pandemic has dealt a massive blow to consumer spending and GDP, and uncertainty about medical and economic issues will likely hold back investment. When will the US economy begin a strong recovery? Probably not before the middle of 2021.
Now that the 2nd quarter along with 2020 Tax Filing Season is coming to an end I was asked by a few people from Mint Hill, “If I didn’t file for an extension on April 15, 2020, can I file for an extension on or before July 15, 2020?” The answer is “NO”! The time to file an extension was April 15th which is the normal day to either file your taxes or filing an extension. All Americans were given an automatic extension by the IRS to file their taxes on July 15th, 2020 due to the pandemic COVID-19. *If you filed a form 4868 extension prior to April 15th then you will have until Oct 15th to file your taxes. Mays ConceptsLLC was able to convey that information to our clients to keep them well informed.
Second Quarter Tip: Mays Concepts LLC strongly encourages you to file your taxes within the next few weeks to ensure your taxes are accepted BEFORE the due date of July 15, 2020. We believe there will be a massive tax filing the week of July 15th that could back up the Electronic Filing System. That could prevent your taxes from being accepted on time. Which will mean your taxes are late!
