Partnering With Project 2 Heal

CHARLOTTE – Here at Passionate Paws Animal Hospital, partnering with local organizations with pet-focused missions is important to us. Project 2 Heal is a Waxhaw-based nonprofit that works to reduce the cost and time needed to place a fully-trained service dog with an individual in need. Through their Purpose-Bred Labrador Litter program, Labrador Retriever puppies are bred, nurtured, socialized, and provided basic training before being donated to partner organizations. It is with these partners that puppies complete service dog training and are paired with a veteran, child with special needs, or adult with disabilities.

Along with their mission of increasing service dog accessibility, Project 2 Heal also engages in community outreach. As the approved provider of dogs in the Union County school system, Project 2 Heal staff and volunteers have attended EIC classes with their puppies to read with students. Additionally, they’ve provided “stress-down days” for teachers at local schools as well as residents and staff of White Oaks of Waxhaw, a local nursing home.

Project 2 Heal puppies can be spotted around Waxhaw, recently attending a holiday parade with David Upchurch Real Estate to collect for Toys for Tots. The nonprofit also made a “stress-down” appearance last month at Passionate Paws, which was fun for everyone!

The team at Passionate Paws Animal Hospital supports Project 2 Heal in their mission and has been a sponsor of their work since 2016, including their 2021 Putt for Pups charity golf tournament most recently. Find more information about this great local organization at project2heal.org

Passionate Paws Animal Hospital is a proud member of the Union County Chamber of Commerce and the Waxhaw Business Association.
