Charlotte, NC – Due to Covid-19, this school year looks different for a lot of families. Many children are learning virtually and other families have chosen to homeschool for the first time this year. If your children are learning at home, incorporating brain breaks into their school day routine can help them get some energy out, reduce frustration, and increase focus and attention.

A brain break is a quick activity that allows your child to move and spend a few moments away from their computer screen or school books. Pay attention to your child’s cues as you decide when and how many breaks to schedule into your child’s day. Some children are able to focus for longer periods of time than others and may need only one or two breaks, while others may need a break after every assignment. Ideally, have your child take a brain break before he or she becomes frustrated and tired.

Here are 12 brain break ideas to help your child recharge and do their best during the school day.
