Set Your New Year Massage Goals

CHARLOTTE – You don’t have to wait until the new year to make a bunch of promises to yourself. And you don’t have to start on January 1st either. Think about what you enjoyed about 2021 and what goals you set. What goals didn’t you reach? Why is that?

Now think about your health and wellness. Starting with massage. You don’t have to call it a ‘resolution’. Give yourself 15 or 20 minutes to sit down and be quiet. Think about all the challenges, both great and not so great, that this year might hold for you. Think about the month of January. What would you like to promise yourself? (Remember, if you promise yourself you’re going to do something, keep that promise to yourself. It’s worse than breaking a promise to a friend.)

Can you fit a massage in this month? Why might it be important to you to schedule? Whatever reason you find is okay. It’s no longer considered a guilty pleasure. It’s considered therapy. It’s considered a mental health break. It’s considered a way to improve your health. Carve out time for yourself.

Be aware. Decide what you can afford. Make your appointment and decide what it is you want out of your massage. Communicate with your massage therapist so he/she can help you reach your goal. Move forward with that promise and book the appointment and clear your schedule. If you can prioritize yourself, then you’re able to be there for others when they need you. It’s not selfish, it’s necessary.
