CHARLOTTE – Upon return to the Fort Lauderdale area, we met up with family and toured just a little more from the safety of our car. Dinner was at a well-known restaurant in Fort Lauderdale and did not disappoint.
Our return home was from Fort Lauderdale Airport to Charlotte Douglas. We found the Spirit Airlines cabin had occupancy of about 40% on this trip. Everyone wore face masks, and no snacks were offered. Several passengers asked for drinks and they were served. The flight was on time. Our arrival at charlotte Douglas brought us to the only real disappointment of this trip. Spirit uses the new terminal at the airport. It is a very long walk from the gate to baggage claim. It reminded me of one of the reasons I never use Spirit. That long walk is just way too far for this old man.
I hope our adventure has given you some insight as to travel during this crisis. Beyond a few hiccups, we got used to the “new normal” rather quickly, and really enjoyed this trip.
Our next trip is to Sandals in St Lucia with several of our good friends here in Mint Hill. We are very excited to tell you all about our first international trip. Meanwhile, safe travels, where ever they may be.
