CHARLOTTE, NC – This time we passed it seven times, and the most we saw inline was 10. Barbara and I took advantage of the main street in Key West. This street bustles with shops and restaurants and runs from a most western point on the island to the most Eastern point. It was a great exercise, although Barbara could never walk the entire length without checking out a “bargain” somewhere in between. We did succumb to temptation on this trip. There is an infamous restaurant called Better Than Sex. It is a desert restaurant located in the center of the city. We made a reservation. Arriving just a few minutes early, the first thing we noticed is the ambiance. The room itself was darkened, and decorated with very romantic cupid hearts and Bow and Arrow arrangements. We were seated in an intimate booth with velvet dressing. After advice from our very patient waitress, we selected 2 outrageous deserts and wine. Upon arrival, nothing disappointed. The presentation was outstanding, the taste was great, and the chosen wine, even better. We really enjoyed our evening there and highly recommend you do not count calories, and just enjoy the sights, smells, and romance conjured up in this setting.
Food: It seems most everywhere we chose, we were never disappointed with the food. One night we did a harbor cruise with food and drinks included. We found that to be above par for that type of venue. Unfortunately, that type of venue does not lend itself to smart thinking, and we found many patrons had removed face masks after boarding and never wore them again. Barbara and I managed to sit a little apart from 2 other couples, and we still enjoyed a good night out on the town.
