CHARLOTTE – Several familiar shops were no longer in business, and several had changed hands since our last visit. We spent some time in a famous bar I will not mention and had our pictures framed. The bar tends to be a little rowdy, but it is fun to watch people and talk with the staff. It is good to know that the staff survived 18 months and are very glad American Customers are back to help them earn a living wage. Maybe just a little more good in a weird way? Back on board was an easy venture with just showing our wristbands. No other documentation is needed. Once onboard, I opted for a nap before dinner. Tonight we enjoyed dining at the Steak House. The setting was wonderful, reminding me of the extra charge steak restaurants onboard many ships we have sailed on, except no charges here. It too was included as were all the restaurants. It was fine dining at its best. Called TheWake, it is a soaring 2 story affair, again with limited seating. We had no trouble getting a reservation to our surprise, but we did have some help with the technical side. Several of us had the fillet Mignon. I have to say it was one of the best I have had anywhere, at any price. At 8 ounces, it was just enough. The sides complimented the excellent main course. I will talk about deserts coming up. This was just the perfect day I had hoped for.
