CHARLOTTE – Hotels and Resorts have seen some of the biggest changes to meet the new demand. We need to look no farther than Las Vegas as an example. The new Resorts World Las Vegas was under construction long before Covid or any new desires for upscale were popular. It seems Hilton and its brands had insight into the future, as they designed a complex based on upscale. One-half of the rooms in the complex are in the Las Vegas Hilton. These standard, upscale rooms, are full-service hotel with all amenities, located on an upscale property in a premium location across from a mall and the newest expansion to the convention center. Alongside the Hilton is The Conrad, Hilton’s luxury brand. Comprised of about 45% additional rooms of the complex’s total rooms, these Luxury accommodations show what travelers today are demanding. They want more personal space, better service, premium amenities, and upscale food choices. Making up just 5% of the remaining rooms is Crockfords Las Vegas. This brand arises from the demands of the Hilton guests for an Ultra Luxury product, within Hilton, where they could use the Honors Program, and get the very best of Luxury available in the marketplace.
Sandals have constantly improved its product line to provide “More” and just recently announced the Grand Opening of Sandals Curacao. With the immensely popular overwater bungalows selling out up to360 days in advance, Sandals will include more ultra-luxury suites as they open new resorts. They recently announced 3 new resorts to open in 2022, in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Amidst all of this upscale and ultra-luxury, companies like Sandals continue to offer pricing well under what was long considered the“Going Price” for luxury products.
