CHARLOTTE – Under the new all-inclusive program, most Celebrity Cruise Line dining options are included in the fare, as are the bars and also gratuities. The surprising finding for many first-timers on Celebrity is the mainline pricing. With 11ships on Ocean itineraries, plus 3 ships on Expedition itineraries, Celebrity can take clients anywhere in the world. Celebrity recently has gotten certificates to operate the expedition ships in the Galapagos Islands. Famous for TransAtlantic voyages between the USA and Europe, Cunard continues a long history of plying the Northern Atlantic route out of New York. Southhampton in England is the most well-known destination, but Cunard also operates in Africa, the Baltic Sea, Panama Canal, Australia, and world cruises. Attracting a seasoned and gentile client base, Cunard presents Ocean Sailing with a distinct British finesse. Dining is an experience, as tuxedo and white-gloved staff present British favorites, mixed in with locally sourced recipes. In keeping with British tradition, Cunard ships always have the Upper Classexperiences, now labeled “Grill Class” These clients have a unique experience with dedicated restaurants, lounges, pools, and attentive staff. Of course, all ships have a full complement of stateroom choices from Balcony to Inside. They are also one of the few lines to dedicate staterooms to single travelers. With only three ships in service, Cunard ships are hard pressed to follow in the shadow of the original Queen Mary, now berthed in California. For those who are afraid to fly, a transatlantic cruise may be a great alternative. Priced above the mainstream, Cunard often offers reduced fares to try to fill voyages known to sail below capacity.
