Azamara is the luxury sister of the Royal Caribbean Family of Cruise companies. Operating just 4 Ocean Vessels, this company brings understated luxury and fine dining to the Ocean Cruise World. The 4 ships are well suited for ocean Voyages, while small enough “to get into ports the others simply can’t”. Famous for overnight stays in exotic cities like Bangkok and Bordeaux, the itineraries allow clients to immerse themselves in a destination, rather than just “check off” 1 more city. Select spirits and beers are included as is dining, snacks, concierge service and special coffees and teas.
Carnival Cruise Line
Carnival lives by the most in-your-face motto of “FUN” of any cruise line in service today. Built and designed for families and “FUN”, every ship is replete with bold colors, and loud music. There is something happening practically24 hours a day. After a recent collaboration with Guy Feretti, the addition of an included “Hamburger Stand” has put them over the top. If you have not tried a signature Guy Feretti hamburger, what are you waiting for? The top decks are covered with water parks, water slides, pools, and now Coasters and water slides that extend over the side of the ship. How many of my clients have proudly sent me pictures of the screaming and laughter on the pool decks. The“Fun” does not stop there at all. There are bumper cars on some ships, Xbox rooms, at least 3 live shows on every sailing PLUS an adult-rated show most nights – FUN. There are more bars per square foot, in my humble opinion, on a carnival Ship than in the Downtown area of New Orleans during Mardi Gras, and probably more “Fun” going on. Cruise directors seem to be chosen for their ability to engage crowds because they are constantly on the speaker systems encouraging participation in something. Food is plentiful and the Buffet is probably the most popular restaurant on board and is certainly the largest, Choices range from burgers to steaks, and there are soda dispensers all over. Families can have quiet time together at the main dining rooms, included in the fare. There are also several optional dining venues from steaks to meatballs.
