The Locust Library will hold a Nature Storytime program at 10 a.m. for children of all ages.



Friday, June 16

Preschool Story Time will be held at the Oakboro Library at 9:30 a.m. The theme for June is “Building a Better World.”

The Albemarle Main Library will host a Wii game day from 9 a.m. to noon.

Matthews Playhouse will present “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” June 9-25. Showtimes are on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Ticket prices are $19 for adults and $13 for students and seniors. Visit matthewsplayhouse.com for showtimes and to purchase tickets.

Saturday, June 17

Discovery Place Nature in Charlotte will hold Farm Day from 9 a.m. to noon. Children are invited to get up close to farm animals such as pigs, goats and sheep, climb on a farm tractor and make a farm craft. Children will also enjoy outdoor games, face painting, story time and puppet shows as they learn about farms. The event is included with museum admission.

 

The City of Locust will host a summer concert featuring Island Time Band on the back porch of city hall. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the free concert beginning at 6 p.m.

The Stanly County Library Summer Reading Extravaganza featuring Number Drummer Live will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center in Albemarle. The event is free and is part of the Stanly County Library summer reading program. Contact your nearest library branch for more information about the event or to register your child for the summer reading program. The Oakboro Library will hold a Red Cross Pillowcase program about emergency preparedness at 2 p.m.

The Albemarle Main Library will hold a Red Cross Pillowcase program about emergency preparedness at 2 p.m.

 

Wednesday, June 21

Children’s Story Time will be held at 10 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library.

Thursday, June 22

The Locust Library will hold a Nature Storytime program at 10 a.m. for children of all ages.

Bouncing Babies Story Time will be held at 11 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library. The 20 minute program features stories, songs and rhymes for babies birth through 24 months.
