Preschool Story Time will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Oakboro Library.

The Glow, a Halloween wonderland of more than 5,000 hand-carved jack o’lanterns, will illuminate the Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Carolina Rebellion Campground from October 4-28. The event will feature detailed single pumpkin carvings and large structures, fall food, and live demonstrations from master carvers. The Halloween stroll will be open from Thursday through Sunday. The Talent Company will present Peter Pan Jr. October 20-28 at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center in Albemarle. General admission tickets are $5. Showtimes are October 20, 26 and 27 at 7 p.m. and October 21 and 28 at 3 p.m.

Happy Halloween!

Children’s Story Time will be held at 10 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library.

Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. children can learn about history through games, stories, crafts and activities during the History Hunters program at the Stanly County Museum. This week, children will learn why bats, black cats and spiders are associated with Halloween, then will make a spider craft. The program is designed for children ages 3-6.
