Friday, September 28

Preschool Story Time will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Oakboro Library.



Head out to Oakboro from 5-9:30 p.m. for some free family fun during the Oakboro Cruise-In. The event is held the fourth Friday of each month, weather permitting. For more information, visit the Oakboro Cruise-In Facebook page.

The West Stanly High School football team will play a home game against Jay M. Robinson at 7:30 p.m.

The Children’s Theater of Charlotte will present Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical from September 28 to October 21 at McColl Family Theater. The play is recommended for ages 6 and older. Visit www.ctcharlotte.org for show times and ticket information.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair to the backyard of Locust City Hall for the summer concert series finale and fireworks show featuring The Fantastic Shakers. The concert will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a 9 p.m. fireworks show.

Saturday, September 29

A free movie night will be held in the backyard of Locust City Hall. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to watch Inside Out on a large inflatable movie screen. The movie will begin at sundown with pre-movie activities beginning at 6:30 p.m. There will be free hotdogs, hamburgers, popcorn and ice cream. The movie night is sponsored by Mission Church and The Big Serve.

Monday, October 1

Preschool Story Time will be held at 10 a.m. at the Locust Library.

Wednesday, October 3

Children’s Story Time will be held at 10 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library.

Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. children can learn about history through games, stories, crafts and activities during the History Hunters program at the Stanly County Museum.
