Bouncing Babies Story Time will be held at 11 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library. The 20 minute program features stories, songs and rhymes for babies birth through 24 months.
Circle K Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola will be held Thursday, May 25 through Saturday, May 27 in Uptown Charlotte. The event will feature music, show cars, appearances by NASCAR drivers, interactive displays, giveaways, kids’ events and food vendors. The festival will be open each day from 12-8 p.m. on Tryon Street. Entertainment begins around 6:30 p.m. on the Coca-Cola Stage in Romare Bearden Park. Preschool Storytime will be held at the Oakboro Library at 9:30 a.m. This week the kids will enjoy a paramedic as the guest reader.
Mint Hill Madness will be held Friday, May 26 through Sunday, May 28 at the Mint Hill Veterans Memorial Park. Festival hours are Friday 4-11 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday 12-6 p.m. The event will feature food, music, carnival rides and arts/crafts vendors. The 33rd annual all-American Mint Hill Madness parade will begin at 9 a.m. The parade route will run from Publix to Food Lion along Hwy. 51. The Mint Hill Madness Festival will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the Mint Hill Veterans Memorial Park.
The Mint Hill Madness Fireworks Extravaganza will begin at 9 p.m. The show is boasted to be the largest in the Carolinas. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and arrive early to see the show. Fireworks are visible from anywhere in the Mint Hill Veterans Memorial Park with the soccer fields being the best viewing location.

The Mint Hill Madness Festival will be open from 12-6 p.m. at the Mint Hill Veterans Memorial Park.
On Sunday, May 28 and Monday, May 29, Carowinds will offer free park admission to any active, inactive or retired United States Service men and women with a valid military I.D.

Thursday, June 8
Starting Thursday, June 8, the Locust Library will offer a Nature Storytime program for children of all ages. The program will be held on Thursdays at 10 a.m.
