Sea Life Aquarium in Concord will offer Creatures of the Deep Homeschool Week September 17-21. There will be daily activities from 12-4 p.m. and when students complete the Deep Sea Lab worksheet, they will receive a Deep Sea Explorer badge. The VFW Post 6365 Auxiliary in Locust will host a Family Fun Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Locust Town Center. The public is invited to attend. Discovery Place Science in Charlotte will celebrate science, teamwork and STEM in the second annual Family Science Olympiad event. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Families are invited to try science challenges such as solving a crime using science clues, exploring prehistoric fossils, predicting weather patterns and unearthing facts about earthquakes and volcanoes. As part of Educator Saturdays, all educators who present their school ID or NCDNPE homeschool certificate will receive free admission to the museum for themselves plus one guest.

Join American Girl® for an afternoon at Discovery Place Science in Charlotte. Attendees will enjoy lunch at the Bistro at the Charlotte American Girl store in SouthPark Mall before driving to Discovery Place Science for a class inspired by Luciana, the Girl of the Year 2018. Girls will participate in experiments and art activities, such as designing a rocket or spaceship. Afterward, enjoy a treat of space ice cream. Transportation is not included. The event will be held from 12:30-4:30 p.m. The cost of the event is $45 per person.
