The Oakboro Library will have Preschool Storytime with the Mayor at 9:30 a.m.



Head to the ballpark in Kannapolis for Daddy/Daughter Date Night. The Intimidators will take on Hickory at 5 p.m. Girls and dads will enjoy a Princess Party before the game. Visit www.intimidatorsbaseball.com for a schedule, promotions and ticket information.

Relay for Life of Stanly County will be held at the Oakboro Fire Department from 6 p.m. to midnight. Come enjoy an evening of family fun while raising funds for the American Cancer Society.

Saturday, May 20

Bethel Elementary School and The Friends of the Midland Library will host the second annual Bengal Book Bash from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fun will include storytellers, a free book for every child who attends and a used book sale.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair to the back yard of Locust City Hall for a free outdoor concert featuring A Deeper Shade of Blue. The concert will begin at 6 p.m.

Monday, May 22

Preschool Story Time and Activities will be held at the Locust Library at 10:30 a.m. The fun includes stories, games and crafts for children age two to five. Call or visit the library to register. The program follows the Stanly County Schools calendar and does not meet when school is out.

During the month of May, Monkey Joe’s in Matthews will offer several promotions. May Mondays will be $5 admission. May “Toddler Tuesdays” will be $5 admission for children ages four and under. Children’s Story Time will be held at 10 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library.

Thursday, May 25

Bouncing Babies Story Time will be held at 11 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library. The 20 minute program features stories, songs and rhymes for babies birth through 24 months.
