Friday, June 1

Registration begins for the Stanly County Public Library Summer Reading Program. The theme for this year’s program is “Libraries Rock.” Visit any library branch to register. Join the Kannapolis Intimidators for Faith and Family Night as they take on Hagerstown at 7:05 p.m. The event will celebrate faith and family with live music and fellowship. All local choirs, praise bands, and church musical groups are invited to take part in Choirs vs. Bands. Kids will have the opportunity to run the bases after the game. Sunday, June 3

The Kannapolis Intimidators will take on Hagerstown at 5:05 p.m. Bring your princesses and superheroes to the game dressed in their super hero disguises or royal dresses. Boys and girls will enjoy character appearances throughout the evening. Members of the Jr Intimidators Club receive a complementary ticket to the game. Tuesday, June 5

The City of Locust Parks and Recreation Department will offer summer tennis lessons at the Locust City Park Athletic Complex tennis courts. The lessons will be coached by Jerry Crowder, head coach for Sun Valley High School. Lessons will be offered on Tuesdays, June 5 through July 31. Lessons for ages 8 and under begin at 6 p.m. and ages 9 and up begin at 7 p.m. The cost is $10 per lesson with a $2.50 one-time fee. Register at Locustnc.siplay.com.

Children’s Story Time will be held at 10 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library.
