Discovery Place Kids in Huntersville will present a Groundhog Day story time program at 11:15 a.m. The program is included with museum admission.

Sea Life Aquarium in Concord is offering Healthcare Professional Appreciation Month January 8-February 8. The aquarium is offering free admission to healthcare professionals and 50 percent off admission for up to four guests. Hospital employees and healthcare professionals covering industries such as dental, orthodontics, speech pathology, social work, and more are eligible. Discovery Place Nature in Charlotte will present a Groundhog Puppets program at 12:30 p.m. Children will enjoy stories, learn facts about groundhogs and will make a groundhog puppet to take home. The program is included with museum admission. Visit www.discoveryplace.org for more information.

Preschool Story Time will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Locust Library. Call or visit the library to register.

Wednesday, February 7

Children’s Story Time will be held at 10 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library.

Thursday, February 8

Bouncing Babies Story Time will be held at 11 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library. The 20 minute program features stories, songs and rhymes for babies birth through 24 months.

Children can strengthen reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog during the Read to the Dogs program at the Locust Library. The program is held on the second Thursday of each month. Registration is required. Time slots are available from 4-5:30 p.m.
