Thursday, September 28

Bouncing Babies Story Time will be held at 11 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library. The 20 minute program features stories, songs and rhymes for babies birth through 24 months.



The Stanly County Fair will be held Tuesday, September 26 through Saturday, September 30. The fair features children’s activities, competitions, entertainment, music, rides, vendors, agricultural exhibits, food and attractions. Gates are open 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, visit www.stanlyfair.com.

Saturday, September 30

The City of Locust will host a free movie night in the backyard of city hall. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to watch Zootopia on a large inflatable movie screen. The movie will begin at sundown with pre-movie activities beginning at 6 p.m. Food vendors will be available with items to purchase. The movie night is sponsored by Mission Church and the Big Serve.

On Saturdays in September, Discovery Place will offer free admission to educators and one guest. Free admission is available at any of the Discovery Place museums including Discovery Place Science, Discovery Place Nature, Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville and Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham. To receive free admission, educators must present a valid school ID or NCDNPE homeschool certificate.

Preschool Story Time will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the Locust Library. Call or visit the library to register.

Wednesday, October 4

Children’s Story Time will be held at 10 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library.

Thursday, October 5

Every Thursday in October, the Stanly County History Center will host a 45 minute ghost walk in downtown Albemarle led by veteran storytellers. Two of the Thursdays will be family friendly ghost walks. For more information or to register, call 704-986-3777.
