Saturday, August 19

The 7th annual Agri-Civic Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stanly County Agri-Civic Center in Albemarle. The event will include agricultural and arts exhibits, livestock shows, live entertainment, food vendors, historical demonstrations and children’s activities. Admission and parking are free. The City of Locust will host a free outdoor concert by Silk Groove from 6-9 p.m. in the backyard of city hall. Vendors will include Rocky River Vineyards, Stovalls Dawg Hut, Lil Orbits Donuts, J & M Icecream and Scentsy, Erica Summers. There will also be a free kid zone with an inflatable slide and face painting sponsored by Locust Pediatric Dentistry.

Discovery Place Kids in Huntersville will host a Solar Eclipse 2017 program. Hear the story The Big Eclipse by Nancy Coffelt and participate in activities to learn why the sky will go dark on August 21. The fun starts at 11:15 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 19 and 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, August 20. Activities are included with museum admission.

Grab a pair of eclipse glasses and watch the Solar Eclipse 2017.

Wednesday, August 23

Children’s Story Time will be held at 10 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library.

Thursday, August 24

Bouncing Babies Story Time will be held at 11 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library. The 20 minute program features stories, songs and rhymes for babies birth through 24 months.
