Thursday, August 3

The Locust Library will hold a Nature Story Time program at 10 a.m. for children of all ages.



Friday, August 4

The Albemarle Main Library will show the movie “Ice Age: Collision Course” at 10 a.m.

The Uwharrie Players will present Mary Poppins at the Stanly County Agri Civic Center in Albemarle. Performance dates are July 28-30 and August 4-6. Tickets are $14 for adults, $11 for juniors/seniors and $5 for children age 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at Starnes Jewelers, B&D Bookstore or online at uwharrieplayers.org.

Head to the BB&T Ballpark to enjoy a night of baseball with the Charlotte Knights. The Knights will take on Gwinnett at 7:05 p.m. The evening will feature a Friday Night Fireworks show following the game.

Sunday, August 6

Head to the BB&T Ballpark to enjoy a night of baseball with the Charlotte Knights. The Knights will take on Gwinnett at 5:05 p.m. Kids 12 and under will have a chance to run the bases after the game.

Wednesday, August 9

Children’s Story Time will be held at 10 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library.

Thursday, August 10

Bouncing Babies Story Time will be held at 11 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library. The 20 minute program features stories, songs and rhymes for babies birth through 24 months.

Children can strengthen reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog during the Read to the Dogs program at the Locust Library. The program is held on the second Thursday of each month. Registration is required. Time slots are available from 4-5:30 p.m.
