Thursday, July 13

Bouncing Babies Story Time will be held at 11 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library. The 20 minute program features stories, songs and rhymes for babies birth through 24 months.



Friday, July 14

The Oakboro Library will hold a preschool story time program at 8:45 a.m. and a grades K-5 story time program at 9:30 a.m.

The Albemarle Main Library will hold a Wii game day from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Enjoy a baseball game at the BB&T Ballpark as the Charlotte Knights take on Gwinnett at 7:05 p.m. Stick around after the game for a Friday night fireworks show. The Knights will also play at home against Gwinnett on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday at 5:05 p.m. Visit charlotteknights.com for a schedule, promotions and ticket information.

Saturday, July 15

The City of Locust will host a summer concert featuring Arts Fishing Club on the back porch of city hall. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the free concert beginning at 6 p.m.

Celebrate National Ice Cream Day with a scoop (or two) of your favorite ice cream flavor!

Monday, July 17

Carolina Presbyterian Church in Locust will hold Vacation Bible School July 17-21 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Children ages four years old through 5th grade are invited to explore the coolest book on the planet during Operation Arctic. To register for VBS, visit www.carolinapca.org.

The Locust Library will host a Happy Healthy Snack Workshop at 2:30 p.m.

 Wednesday, July 19

Children’s Story Time will be held at 10 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library.

The Oakboro Library will host a Better Water, Better World program at 2 p.m.

Thursday, July 20

The Locust Library will hold a Nature Storytime program at 10 a.m. for children of all ages.

 The Albemarle Main Library will host a Teen Duct Tape Contest at 2 p.m.

Children can strengthen reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog during the Read to the Dogs program at the Locust Library. Registration is required. Time slots are available from 4-5:30 p.m.
