Thursday, June 22

The Locust Library will hold a Nature Storytime program at 10 a.m. for children of all ages.



Bouncing Babies Story Time will be held at 11 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library. The 20 minute program features stories, songs and rhymes for babies birth through 24 months.

Friday, June 23

Preschool Story Time will be held at the Oakboro Library at 9:30 a.m. The theme for June is “Building a Better World.”

The Albemarle Main Library will show the movie Finding Dory at 10 a.m. At 2 p.m., the library will show the movie Fantastic Beasts (PG-13) for teens.

Matthews Playhouse will present “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” June 9-25. Showtimes are on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Ticket prices are $19 for adults and $13 for students and seniors. Visit matthewsplayhouse.com for showtimes and to purchase tickets.

Saturday, June 24

The Oakboro 4th of July Celebration will kick off with the annual 5K Freedom Run at 8 a.m. Proceeds from the race benefit the Oakboro Fire Department. To register for the race, visit www.oakboro4th.com.

Monday, June 26

The Locust Library will hold a Red Cross Pillowcase program about emergency preparedness at 2:30 p.m.

Tuesday, June 27

The Albemarle Main Library will hold a Dig Into History program at 2 p.m.

Wednesday, June 28

Children’s Story Time will be held at 10 a.m. at the Albemarle Main Library.

The Oakboro Library will hold a Dig Into History program at 2 p.m.

Thursday, June 29

The Locust Library will hold a Nature Storytime program at 10 a.m. for children of all ages.

The Oakboro 4th of July Celebration will feature a full evening of fun including the annual Little Miss 4th of July Pageant at 6 p.m. The carnival on the midway (behind the fire department) opens at 6 p.m. for armband night. Sea Cruz will perform on the Union Power Stage at 8:30 p.m.
