Many celebrations will take place November 11 as Americans across the country celebrate Veterans Day.  This special day has been set aside in tribute to the commitment and sacrifices of our men and women in uniform.

Hospice of Stanly County, Inc. realizes that honoring our nation’s veterans includes supporting them throughout their entire lives, even at the end.

Many Americans might not realize that more than 50,000 veterans die each month; that’s roughly 28 percent of all deaths in the United States.

We, as US citizens, live in a country where freedom abounds.  Many brave men and women in all branches of service have dedicated their lives to serving our country, supporting peace and defending our freedom.  The price for such liberty was paid by these valiant men and women and their contributions should not be overlooked.

The men and women who served our country are our family members, neighbors, friends, and co-workers and we should extend our gratitude to them for their service.

Our nation’s veterans have given their full measure in service to their country, it is only fitting that we provide the highest quality of care for them when they are nearing the end of their lives.

If you know a veteran who is in need of the special care hospice provides, serve them by reaching out and helping them learn more about care at the end of life.  Information is available from The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s Caring Connections at www.caringinfo.org , Hospice of Stanly County at www.hospiceofstanly.org  or by calling Hospice of Stanly County at 704-983-4216 or 800-230-4236.
