The Midland American Legion Black Phillips Post 433 was first chartered in 1946. Members of the community donated lumber and other building supplies and a plot of land for it. The building still stands at 12975 Cabarrus Station Road and the Legion’s task to serve the community is coming back around again.
Locust Bank Robbery Suspect Caught
Chief Frank Hartsell and Captain Charles Connell of the Locust Police Department and deputies of the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office arrested Brett Anthony Hamrick, 50 YOA White Male at his home located at 5895 Heartwood Court, Harrisburg, NC 28075 for the robbery of First Bank in Locust, NC.
