Town Hall grows again

The Town of Midland is looking for more space for their operations. At the March 9 council meeting, they found it when Jack Presnell, owner of the business park where town hall is currently located, offered them an additional 598 square feet behind the present meeting room for $534 a month.
That brings the price for town hall rental expense up to $3,256 per month. This change is to help the town handle extra personnel who will be helping with the new planning and zoning permits that began March 1.
Council also approved taking bids for cleaning staff which will be presented at April’s meeting and approved the purchase of a trapezoid table so that the council can all see each other during the meetings without bending back or forward. The cost for that was $279. Council declined building a small wall with a gate in front of a planned dais where the council table would be located as well as a water filtration system for employees and an ice maker for the town refrigerator. Midland is also in the market for a town flag and will look at bids for that in April as well.
