Leadership Stanly nominations wanted

The Stanly County Chamber of Commerce is now taking nominations for the Leadership Stanly Class of  2013. Consider nominating an employee, colleague, member of your church congregation, family member, or anyone you feel has the energy and potential to tackle present and future community issues.
The program fee of $650 for Chamber Member or $750 for Non-Chamber Member covers all costs for the nine-month period, including speakers, scheduled meals, lodging, materials, mailings, and the graduation banquet for each participant and guest.
If you do not have a nominee from your firm, why not consider sponsoring a representative of a non-profit organization or church.
Requirements are that each participant devotes one full day per month-from September through May – to the eight-lecture/discussion/tour sessions. Sessions include history and community overview, education, health care and human services, law enforcement and the courts, local government and land use/public works, economic development/communications and media, innovative leadership, and transportation and tourism. Attendance at an overnight retreat in September is mandatory. The candidate must be a resident of or working in Stanly County.
The candidate’s participation must be endorsed by his or her employer (employer shall be broadly construed to include all companies under a corporate umbrella, wholly-owned subsidiary, political entity, etc.) or sponsored by a civic or non-profit organizations. If employed, his or her manager or supervisor must approve the candidate’s participation. If not employed, the candidate must have a letter of nomination from the sponsoring organizations. If selected, the applicant and employer should be committed for the participant to attend all sessions of Leadership Stanly.
