Hundreds gathered for the 54th Annual Oakboro Fourth of July parade this past week. Floats and parade participants from all over the county marched down Main Street in Oakboro to the cheers and shouts of joy from children and bystanders lined up alongside the roadway. Fire trucks, beauty queens, veterans, politicians, period dressers, and big tractors from local farms were among the many participants to toss candy and wave to the cheering crowd.
