Area coaches, trainers, student athletes, and parents are invited to a free sports performance conference Saturday, June 2, beginning at 9 am in Stanly Regional Medical Center’s Family and Education Center.
The day-long event will cover a variety of topics including muscle building techniques and training, speed, agility, conditioning, sports nutrition, program design, concussion identification and much more. The afternoon field sessions will be held at North Stanly High School from 1-3 pm.
The keynote speaker will be Michael R. Barnes, a renowned certified strength and conditioning specialist and former strength development coordinator for the San Francisco Forty-Niners. With 20 years of experience designing and implementing programs for amateur and professional athletes. In addition, attendees will hear from Scott Brone, PT, CSCS, director of rehabilitation services and sports medicine coordinator with Stanly Regional. Brone has over 20 years of experience as well in strength and conditioning.
